My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

How this pet arrived:
Bella was brought in by her previous owner on November 24, 2024.

Why this pet is the one for you:
Say hello to Bella, the fawn-colored beauty who could easily win the "Best Eyes in Town" award. With her soulful gaze and charming personality, Bella has the potential to steal the show wherever she goes-but only after she warms up to her audience. A little shy at first, Bella prefers to take her time getting to know new people and places. With patience, tasty treats, and time to adjust, her true personality shines brighter than the morning sun. Don't let her graceful demeanor fool you-this girl has hops! If Olympic vaulting for dogs were a thing, Bella would be going for gold. Because of her impressive jumping abilities, she needs a home where outdoor time is supervised and fences are no match for her skills. Inside, Bella transforms into a water-splashing, tail-wagging companion who enjoys pets and playtime. Bella has a good history with children but recommends sturdy ones-her enthusiastic jumps are her way of saying "Hello, world!" but might require a bit of balance training for her human siblings. She hasn't had the pleasure of meeting cats yet, and while the jury's out on whether she'd get along, a feline-free home might be the safest bet for now. So, are you ready to meet this athletic sweetheart and give her the home she's dreaming of? Pack up your leash, bring a collar, and prepare to be wowed by Bella's golden eyes today!

More about this shelter

San Diego Humane Society, an open-admission shelter, is creating a more humane world by inspiring compassion and advancing the welfare of animals and people. Our lifesaving safety net has helped San Diego become the largest city in the U.S. to keep healthy and treatable shelter animals from being euthanized. We are a private, independent, nonprofit organization that is not affiliated with any other humane society or society for the prevention of cruelty to animals.

With campuses in El Cajon, Escondido, Oceanside, Ramona and San Diego, we provide animal services for 14 cities within San Diego County. We not only care for 50,000 animals in our communities but also share the expertise we have gained through our innovative programs with shelters nationwide so they can save more lives in their communities.

While our influence is expanding nationally, our top priority is meeting the needs of San Diego. We provide exceptional care for all animals through world-class veterinary medicine, shelter and most of all: love.
