My personality

My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Hi there, my name is Ivy and I am a pretty 5-year-old, 8 lb Rat Terrier mix with a medium energy level and a go-with-the-flow attitude. I was a “surprise” dog from Houston Texas who stowed away with a group of dogs from a hoarder's home heading to San Antonio for fostering through 4 Little Paws Rescue. I suppose I wasn't wanted by whoever put me on board, so I’m happy for a better opportunity to find a nice forever home!

I am a friendly girl but shy at first and once I know you I’m good to go. I am friendly and playful with other dogs, sort of a diva with them, but devoted to some select doggy friends, and sadly my good friend Mitzi passed away recently. I am very loyal to my humans, preferring their company overall, and I don't freak out when my foster mom leaves the house without me. I’m sweet and loving without being slobbery about it or demanding of affection. I’m discovering doggy toys and enjoying hard chew toys like Nylabone. I only bark to alert you about something important and I am already housebroken. I do not like to be kept in a crate, so I am allowed to roam freely in my foster home and sleep in bed with my foster mom each night. Now that I’m spayed, chipped, and fully vaccinated, I am ready to find my future and looking forward to it! I hear the Eastern Seaboard is the place to be, so inquire about me today and bring me home!

Additional adoption info

Please DO NOT apply unless the entire family / household is on board with adopting one of our dogs. We must receive an application for you to move forward in the process. Thoughtful direct emails are welcome and will be answered. However, an application is still a necessary step. We want to make sure we find our dogs a perfect fit with a family so both the dog and the family are happy. We keep our dogs with fosters once we get them out of shelters for a little bit to learn and understand their personalities. Our relationship with families doesn't stop at adoption! We are always available for any follow up questions and are happy to be a resource as you and your new pet settle into a routine.
