Check out our sister brand, Kinship, for vet chat, a nutrition calculator, basic obedience training, and (much) more. So you're never flying solo in this pet parenting thing.
Koda is a very sweet 50-pound mixed breed with a gentle heart and a sensitive soul. Between 1-2 years old, Koda may be a little nervous and scared of new things, but his loving nature shines through once he feels safe and secure. Koda is looking for a patient and understanding family who can provide him with the reassurance and comfort he needs to build his confidence. This handsome mutt enjoys quiet moments, gentle petting, and being close to his favorite people. Koda may need a bit of extra time to come out of his shell, but the bond he forms will be incredibly rewarding. He has done well with most other dogs, just needs a bit of a warm up period. If you're looking for a loyal and affectionate companion who just needs a bit of extra support, Koda is ready to meet you! Give us a call if you would like to meet him.

Here at the Red Desert Humane Society we strive to place pets in the best homes possible. We ask that you fill out an adoption application prior to meeting our animals. One can be emailed to you.
Once we receive your application we will review your application. During this process we will make calls to Landlords (if applicable). As well as your veterinarian that has provided care for your past or present pets.
We ask that you provide photos of your current residence where the dog will be living.
Once this is complete we ask that your bring your current animals (if any) to the shelter to meet your potential new pet as to prevent any possible problems once you get home.
If all of this goes well and you are approved we will then have you sign our adoption contract as well as pay the adoption fee.
Please call for our adoption fees or any other information.

More about this shelter
The Red Desert Humane Society is a non-profit organization dedicated to the placement of previously homeless animals in new, loving environments.
We alter and vaccinate all animals prior to placement, and screen all applicants to ensure a lifelong match between people and pets. We also educate the community about the importance of spaying and neutering pets, proper pet care, and animal welfare. We place dogs and cats in loving, forever homes!
