My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

***Gloria is one of our 12 Dogs of Christmas, so her adoption fee is fully sponsored until 12/31/24!

Oh, my Gloria! This three-year-old, 26-pound Beagle is adorable! Gloria originally came to the shelter as a rescue all the way from Texas. Since then, she lived with a lovely foster dad who cared dearly for her but could not provide a permanent home. Gloria requires a little extra care as she is diabetic. This means she will have to continue with a prescription diet and will likely need to continue on insulin as well. This sweet girl is looking for a family who understands her medical needs and can manage them with ease!

Besides being an absolute sweetheart, Gloria is guaranteed to make you laugh! This funny girl loves people so much that she`ll comically have the most adorable mini meltdown whenever she sees someone she wants to meet! She`s a happy pup who knows `sit` and is working on relearning potty training. With her diagnosis came some difficulties with her bladder, so she would appreciate a home where she can take potty breaks a bit more often than usual.

Gloria is spayed, microchipped, and up to date on her vaccines. She`s available for foster to adopt! You can visit her at The Babinski Foundation Animal Shelter Tuesdays through Sundays from 8:30 to 5:00 PM!

More about this shelter

OUR MISSION

We strive to ensure a safe, healthy, and loving environment that will provide temporary shelter for abandoned, stray, and surrendered animals and to find each animal a new and prosperous home.
The Babinski Foundation is a private 501c3 animal shelter located in Pequot Lakes, MN. We are a safe place to surrender dogs and cats. We also are a stray drop-off facility for stray cats and dogs.

OUR STORY

The Babinski Foundation was established in 2010 by Donald and Elizabeth Babinski owners and founders of Babinski Properties which owns multifamily housing in Minnesota, Florida and South Dakota. He and his wife Elizabeth were working tirelessly to get the animal shelter opened which was their dream, but Donald Babinski passed away August 11th, 2014 before the shelter could open. Elizabeth continued where they left off and the Foundation opened in January 2016 in Pequot Lakes, MN. Elizabeth passed away on November 13th, 2020. Donald and Elizabeth’s dream was finally realized, and Donald and Elizabeth’s surviving family and friends will continue to work hard to fulfill their mission.
