Scout has a grade 3 heart murmur and a positive proBNP test, which may indicate heart disease. We don’t know how much time he has, but we do know he deserves to spend it in a loving home. Despite his diagnosis, Scout is full of energy—he’s feisty, playful, and loves chasing toys. When he’s ready to rest, you’ll find him napping up high, keeping an eye on everything. He gets along with most friendly cats but likes his space. If you’re looking to give a special cat a comfortable, happy life, Scout is ready to meet you!

Additional adoption info

All pet adoptions are subject to approval by SPCA staff.

An adoption application must be completed, followed by a screening and interview/counseling process. Adoption requirements are listed on the application.

We perform a fence check for most dogs and a vet check for all current pets. All current pets must be up-to-date on vaccinations.

Please contact the shelter directly for each pet's adoption fee: 803-648-6863. All adoption fees include spay/neuter surgery, up-to-date vaccinations, testing and a microchip.
