My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

His name may be intense, but this shy guy is really just a big softie. Tank is a one year old good boy looking for a forever home where he can have the time and space he needs to really come out of his shell and be the sweet dog every staff member has come to love. Tank is a sensitive guy, usually preferring to take it slow and keep it simple. He'd love a home where he can go for leisurely strolls or just hangout with his people and watch some TV.

Tank is a very sweet boy who seems to enjoy the company of bigger dogs, but wouldn't care too much for kitty or small dog siblings. We think he's mostly housetrained and with a little confidence boosting he would make a wonderful companion for most families willing to give him the time he needs to open up and show off his wonderful personality. If you're interested in Tank, he's at AHS today!

More about this shelter

Asheville Humane Society is about hope, not heartache. As Buncombe County’s critical safety net since 1984, we are always here to save and protect every animal. We have mastered the art of saving lives within our walls and now we are going even further, helping our community’s pets and their people thrive together. We are going beyond a no-kill community to ensure that each animal has the quality of life they deserve – a life worth living.
