Check out our sister brand, Kinship, for vet chat, a nutrition calculator, basic obedience training, and (much) more. So you're never flying solo in this pet parenting thing.
Our dogs who are in high demand have a $395 adoption fee plus a $500 donation (which is tax-deductible) for a total of $895. The extra donation will go towards another Saving Grace dog in need of heartworm treatment that is currently not sponsored.
There are just dogs who advertise that their role in the family has always been that of the little brother or sister, and Sable is one of those for sure! Sable is the sweetest little lady with an aura that just makes you want to scoop her right up and be her forever protector. She is ready to give and receive love 100% of the time, whether you're canine or human, giving cuddles and kisses like a true pro who was born for the role. In her little canine pack she adores her "big sister Oprah and two "big brothers Comic and Camelot. The four of them all arrived together at Saving Grace (from the same original home we believe) just before Thanksgiving. They went to a foster home together and their temporary family has had a great time getting to know the "Fluff Pack."
A typical youngest child, Sable has the world of the older dogs in her pack completely figured out. She knows that the girl and one of the boys will put her in her place if she gets too boisterous or demanding, but her biggest big brother is the pushover who won't quite set her straight... so guess who it is that she pesters? He's also the one that she most loves to cuddle up with for nap time, though, and he clearly loves her. It's hard to imagine Sable in a family without another dog, but it's possible she could do it if the humans are around a lot of the time and are willing to let her sleep with them as her new pack! It would also be really important for her to continue meeting and socializing with other dogs in her new neighborhood.
If Sable has one weakness it's that she found the sound of the clippers very frightening when she went to what was likely her first ever grooming session. She is sporting a bit of a muppet look for her adoption appointments because she was not cooperative, so the only progress was done with scissorwork. Good thing she is so wonderful in every other way, because Sable promises to make it worth your while to help her find her way in the big world! This cutie pie has a way of making you want to move heaven and earth to give her the fantastic life she deserves.

All puppies and dogs at Saving Grace are crate trained, have been spayed/neutered, are up to date on their vaccines, are on heartworm preventative and have been microchipped. If you are interested in meeting one of our dogs, please complete an Adoption Application at our website: savinggracenc.org
Sending an Application does not commit you to an adoption, it simply provides us with background information on potential homes. Please review our Adoption Contract before sending an Application to ensure that you will be able to provide the requirements stated in the contract. The Contract must be signed at the time of adoption.
Saving Grace is a small, non-profit 501-C3 organization operated by volunteers only. Most of our animals come from rural animal control shelters where lack of space and resources limit their time and adoption possibilities. Thank you for choosing Saving Grace! We look forward to helping you find your new companion and family member.

More about this rescue
Located in central North Carolina and officially established in 2004, Saving Grace has placed over 15,000 dogs into homes since its inception. These dogs were from rural animal control facilities with little resources and who would otherwise not had the opportunity to receive necessary veterinary care and a chance at adoption. While we have grown significantly over the years and have been successful growing our numbers we still see many great dogs miss the opportunity of adoption.
We have a large variety of dogs varying in breed, size, shape, age and needs and would love to work with you to find you a great dog companion while providing a dog in need with a loving home. Our dogs are chosen based on temperament and socialization. We get some of the most charming, unique mix breeds as well as some striking purebreds. Our dogs come from rural, underserved areas and while they may have little experience as an indoor family member, they have the temperament and personality that is sure to bring much love and appreciation to their new home. Most have started their crate training while in our program. Veterinary care including spay/neuter, microchip, heartworm test, vaccinations, monthly preventatives are provided prior to each adoption. If you would like more information about adopting one of our dogs, please email savinggrace@savinggracenc.org
