Here's what the humans have to say about me:
Meet Bailey, a 7-month-old German Shorthaired Pointer who's all about fun, love, and energy! This sweet and playful pup has two speeds: play hard and nap hard. One of his quirkiest (and cutest) habits? Carrying his blanket around the house like it's his favorite treasure-though he's always ready to drop it for a good game.
Bailey was surrendered because the older dog in his previous home wasn't a fan of his youthful enthusiasm, but he's done great making friends with other dogs since and hasn't met a person he didn't adore. He's house trained and handles alone time well-aside from occasionally licking shoes, but hey, who doesn't have a weird hobby? He is crate trained!
He hasn't lived with cats, and given his breed and natural prey drive, we'd recommend a cat-free home. Bailey has lived with teenagers and did well, making him a great fit for an active family with older kids who can match his energy and keep him entertained.
If you're ready to welcome a playful, blanket-loving companion into your life, Bailey is waiting to join the fun!
If you're ready to adopt now and want to learn more about, meet, or adopt this pet, you can start the process in one of two ways:
Come on in during open adoption hours Tuesday - Saturday 12:30-3:00! For in-shelter pets (not in foster care) coming in ASAP is the fastest way to adopt.
**the below two methods are slower than visiting us**
Call us (413-781-4000 x 1) or email us (springfield@dakinhumane.org) for more information about a pet. We are often on the line with another client, but we return voice mail and emails within 24 hours.
All adult dog adoption fees include;
-spay/neuter
-rabies and kennel cough vaccinations
- heartworm test
-current parvo/distemper vaccines (may need additional boosters with your veterinarian)
-microchip implanted & registered to adopter
