My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Lewis is a sweet 7-month-old boy who has spent almost his entire life in the shelter. After 126 days here, He's never had the chance to experience what it truly means to be a dog—running in a yard, playing fetch, or simply snuggling up in a loving home.
These two desperately need to find their forever homes where they can learn that there’s more to life than the shelter. They’re ready to discover the joy, love, and adventure that every dog deserves.
Could you be the one to show Luna and Lewis what it means to “dog”?
Come meet them at Giles County Animal Shelter!
We’re open Monday through Friday from 10-3pm, Saturday from 10-2pm, and Sunday from 12-2pm.
They’re waiting to meet you!

More about this shelter

It is our mission to inform our community of the state laws and city ordinances in place for vaccinations, tethering/chaining, and sheltering needs. Any dog impounded by our shelter can be reclaimed by his rightful owner during a 72 hour hold period. If the dog brought in has any type of identification we will make reasonable effort to contact the owner and the hold period will be 5 business days. Once the hold period is up, all healthy/adoptable dogs will be put up for adoption or sent to a registered 501(c)3 rescue. Please LIKE and SHARE our page to see incoming dogs!
