My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

This beautiful white calico girl started life on the streets and sadly, got pregnant as a kitten (the downside of not getting TNR in time). But she had two beautiful calico kittens (spicy spice and squishy spice) and got rescued with them, got fixed and vaxxed, and is now living the good life indoors with no new babies in her future. Mama is very sweet and playful but still a bit timid. When in a carrier or cubby, she enjoys pets but when given her freedom, she is still a bit shy and will keep her distance unless you have food. She has come a long way in her 2 months of fostering and is ready for her forever home with someone that can give her the space and time she needs to adjust. If you are someone looking for a feline friend but hesitant because maybe you travel a lot or have a demanding work schedule and are gone much of the day, Mama Spice would be perfect. She is chill, calm, and does not require large amounts of interaction or time. Likes to be around you, but not in your lap. She has the sweetest little squeaky meow! The perfect cat for someone who wants a cat, but is concerned they do not have enough time for one. Can be adopted solo or with her kitten, Spicy Spice. Additional adoption info

Since we make a lifetime commitment to any animal that comes into our program, we only adopt out animals to people in our area..

If you are interested in adopting a CAWS cat or dog, please fill out the online application at http://www.caws.org/application/, email adopt@caws.org or call 328-4731. For the most timely response applying online is recommended.

We respond as quickly as possible but as we are a volunteer based organization and do not have full time staff, we respond as quickly as possible.

Go meet their pets

CAWS does not have a conventional shelter facility - all CAWS animals waiting for adoption are in foster homes. The number of animals we can help find new homes for is closely linked to how many CAWS foster homes are available. For additional information regarding how you, too, can become a foster, please see our fostering page located on our web site!

CAWS volunteers bring cats and dogs to the PetSmart near 2100 South and 300 West in South Salt Lake on the third and fourth weekends of each month

We are also at the Sugarhouse PETCO (1165 Wilmington Ave) the first Saturday of each month.
