My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Do you want a cat, but have a demanding schedule and are gone a lot? Alternatively, do you work from home and need an office buddy that will hang out with you, but not interrupt your zoom calls? Squishy Spice is the girl for you! Loves to chill in your presence, but not on your lap. Super soft, super cute, super sweet meow, super independent. If you have a demanding schedule and can not be home that often, but still want the fun and comfort of a pet, Squishy Spice is your girl! She is very food motivated, will be your best friend when you have food or treats, and is coming around to enjoying being pet. Her superpower is curling up like a cinnamon roll. She was rescued as an older kitten so her socialization has taken a bit longer than with a younger cat but she has made great progress in two months and loves playing with the wand toy or springs. Is shy around strangers, but comes around quickly if food is involved. She is well-behaved, uses the litter box like a champ, and does not go crazy getting into everything. The perfect pet for people who do not have time for a pet. Squishy Spice has grown up with her mama and sister but would be fine on her own, too. Additional adoption info

Since we make a lifetime commitment to any animal that comes into our program, we only adopt out animals to people in our area..

If you are interested in adopting a CAWS cat or dog, please fill out the online application at http://www.caws.org/application/, email adopt@caws.org or call 328-4731. For the most timely response applying online is recommended.

We respond as quickly as possible but as we are a volunteer based organization and do not have full time staff, we respond as quickly as possible.

Go meet their pets

CAWS does not have a conventional shelter facility - all CAWS animals waiting for adoption are in foster homes. The number of animals we can help find new homes for is closely linked to how many CAWS foster homes are available. For additional information regarding how you, too, can become a foster, please see our fostering page located on our web site!

CAWS volunteers bring cats and dogs to the PetSmart near 2100 South and 300 West in South Salt Lake on the third and fourth weekends of each month

We are also at the Sugarhouse PETCO (1165 Wilmington Ave) the first Saturday of each month.
