Meet Lucilla & Arishat! They are adorable, friendly little girls who were surrendered to DPR when their owners could no longer care for them. They are about a year and a half and have been a lot of fun at their foster home! Lucilla is a teeny tiny guinea pig with fuzzy brown hair that sticks out in every direction, she's very soft. Her sister, Arishat is tri-colored with medium length smooth smooth silky hair. You can see from her picture how she likes to lay her head down on her lap and snuggle up. Their favorite time of the day is when it's time for their fresh salads full of fruits and veggies - they squeak in delight! They enjoy cuddling on your lap. They are very bonded and have always lived together, so we are looking for a home where they can stay together. They are an awesome pair of guinea pigs and we know you'll love them! They are currently on a 60 day pregnancy watch since they were living with males at their previous house.

All our guinea pigs see the vet for a wellness visit and nail trim prior to adoption.
Guinea pigs have wonderful personalities- they are gentle and we have yet to come across any who bite, and they keep a daytime schedule! They form close bonds with their people, similar to cats and dogs. Did you know they are able to recognize people based on scent, sound and sight?! These sweet animals make wonderful pets!

Potential adopters can speak to the guinea pig's foster mom on the phone or do a meeting on Zoom or Facetime if desired to virtually meet the guinea pig. You can pick your guinea pig up 'curb side'. Guinea pigs can be returned with a full refund for up to one week. *

DPR was established in 2004 as a 501(c) non profit organize and an all volunteer rescue organization. We are not a shelter. We rescue both cats and dogs. We care for these pets in our foster homes until proper and stable homes are found through a multi-step adoption process. Our ultimate goal is to match families with our pets so that they live out their lives in loving, educated, safe homes for the remainder of their lives. Our additional goals in rescue are to educate the public in the importance of spaying/neutering and exposing the truth behind pet store puppys and the horrors of puppy mills.
