Meet Lucius! He was surrendered to DPR along with several other guinea pigs when their owner could no longer care for them. His is super adorable and very sweet. Lucius is a tiny little guy with fluffy grey hair that sticks out in every direction. He is very interested in what you're doing, and when we clean his cage he is always coming over to 'help' and walk across our hands and sniff around. He likes to be involved! He is affectionate and enjoys being held and cuddled. He loves when it's time for his daily fruits and veggies and squeaks with delight! Guinea pigs are happiest in pairs or groups, so Lucius would probably love to have a friend in his new home!

Guinea pigs have wonderful personalities- they are gentle and we have yet to come across any who bite, and they keep a daytime schedule! They form close bonds with their people, similar to cats and dogs. Did you know they are able to recognize people based on scent, sound and sight?! These sweet animals make wonderful pets!

We care for these pets in our foster homes until proper and stable homes are found through a multi-step adoption process. Our ultimate goal is to match families with our pets so that they live out their lives in loving, educated, safe homes for the remainder of their lives. Our additional goals in rescue are to educate the public in the importance of spaying/neutering and exposing the truth behind pet store puppys and the horrors of puppy mills.
