Take the Pet Home
This helps Loved At Last Dog Rescue with pet care costs.
Hello, my name is Capri (Junior) and here is a little info about me:
Breed: Chihuahua Mix
Age: 4 years old
Gender: Male, neuterd
Weight: 13 lbs
Height: 15 in
Capri was rescued from a high kill shelter near LA. He was running out of time when he got rescued. His foster mom can't stop saying wonderful thing about him. If you are looking for a "good boy", Capri is the one for you! He is fully house trained but might need some help in a new home. He is about 4 years old and won't get bigger. He enjoys playing with other dogs, his energy level is moderate. He isn't a hyper dog but will keep up with you on hikes! He is a little shy meeting new people but with some time he comes around. He doesn't have a mean bone in his body and is a very submissive dog. He isn't a vocal dog and live in a condo. We did the dental cleaning and some extractions, he is missing a few of his front teeth but he is eating with no issues. The vet thinks because he had a bad diet on the streets his teeth weren't great for his age.
Capri is cute, charming and easy going. He gets along well with people, other dogs and even cats. He has no reaction towards cats and been around many of them. Capri likes the company of other dogs so another dog in the household would be great, he seems to open up much quicker in a home with another dog. Seems like other dogs give him more confidence. He is more shy around men and prefers women but with some TIME and LOVE he opens up to men too. He is currently in a loving foster home in Vancouver. He has been through a lot in the past 4 years and deserves a loving family and a happy ending. Capri wants nothing more than find his forever home before the holidays, Please adopt him!
Energy Level: Moderate
I get along with:
Dogs: Yes
Cats: Yes
Kids: Yes no video
Prey drive: unknown/not observed. My adopter needs to be willing to train me through these behaviours, should they arise.
Fears: a little shy, no aggression just hides
Training: basic
Leash skills: Good
House trained: Yes
I have been vaccinated, neutered and microchipped.
My adoption fee is $850.00 CAD plus applicable taxes.
Disclaimer: It is important for all applicants to visit our website, http://www.lovedatlastdogrescue.ca/adopting/ and read about Loved at Last Dog Rescue.
Information included in the profile is provided to us from the international rescuer or local fosters. LALDR does not have access to overseas dogs and cannot always verify the accuracy of their descriptions. Every dog is an individual and can act differently in different situations based on the person adopting them and the environment in which they live.
Please Note: LALDR highly encourages adopters to research some local dog trainers before their dog arrives. Although a 1-on-1 trainer is often not needed, it is good to have someone in mind in case any problematic behaviours arise. Most bad behaviours can be modified if caught early enough, so make sure to nip undesirable behaviours in the bud before they become serious problems. Basic training should be taken seriously but should not begin until your dog is well settled in - at least a couple of weeks. After you feel your new dog is relaxed and comfortable in their new home check out training courses in your local area. Even basic beginner courses like those taught at a local pet store can have a huge benefit in helping your dog learn to socialize and get used to being in public situations, all with the added benefit of strengthening their bond with you.
While most dogs find escorting passengers flying directly to Vancouver, some will find flights through Toronto or Montreal. In that case, additional fees will apply to fly your dog to Vancouver by cargo. Unaccompanied cargo costs within Canada range from $350 - $550 depending on the size of the dog. LALDR will be as transparent as possible with you regarding these costs.

As adopters of overseas dogs will be taking their dog home from the airport, they have a couple of weeks to decide if the dog is a fit.
