Meet Takoda! This 6-month-old husky mix (maybe with a dash of shepherd in there) is as adorable as they come. Along with his siblings, Takoda was surrendered to a shelter in South Carolina. Thankfully, SNARR was contacted to help, and now this sweet boy and his littermates have made the journey to New York, where they’re thriving in foster care.

Takoda is safe, sound, and patiently waiting for his forever home. With his bright eyes, playful energy, and affectionate nature, he’s sure to win your heart! He’s great with people and other pups, making him the perfect addition to any family. Are you ready to welcome this little adventurer into your life? Takoda is eager to meet you!

IMPORTANT: This dog has not yet been altered. SNARR requires a $150 deposit in addition to your adoption fee, as well as a strictly enforced Spay/Neuter Contract stating you will have this dog altered within 6 months of adoption. The $150 deposit will be returned once the contract has been fulfilled.

An application, agreement, personal reference check, vet reference check and home visit are required.

Adoption fees are below. All of our animals are microchipped, up to date on vaccines and fully vetted.

Puppies under 1 year : $495
Adults 1-9 years: $375
Adults 9+ years: $300
Special Needs Animals: dependant on specific animal and his or her needs

ADDITIONAL DEPOSIT of $125 for spay/ neuter for all unaltered dogs unless the spay/neuter

We are located at 46 Sodom Road, Brewster, NY. You can come stop by 7 days a week from 11am-4pm. While we have 15-18 dogs housed at our adoption center, the majority of our dogs are located in private foster homes.

SNARR Northeast Animal Rescue's mission is "Giving Hope to the Hopeless.” SNARR stands for Special Needs Animal Rescue and Rehabilitation. We do focus on animals with special needs but we also rescue perfectly healthy dogs as well! SNARR works with municipal shelters all over the country to save animals at risk for being euthanized. Our dogs (and cats) are all in foster homes prior to being adopted.
