My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

LOVES TO BINGE ON THE SIMPSONS WITH FOSTER MEOWMY

DOB 7/14/24

Hey there, everyone! I’m Lulu, a sweet, gentle cherub-faced “bicolor” gal who loves to make biscuits while snuggling in Foster Meowmy’s lap. “Bicolor” means that I’m mostly white with gray tabby on my head, body, and tail. I have a cute “skunk patch” of white on my back. I love to binge on the Simpson reruns with Foster Meowmy; I’m so fascinated that I’ll watch the entire episode! Watching TV is just an opportunity to cuddle with Foster Meowmy, and I don’t mind if it’s all day long! I also like to suckle on my soft "blankie."

But I’m no couch potato! Nor sirree! I love to chase the red laser dot up, down, and all around the room – just like I scramble after string wand toys that Foster Meowmy wiggles like a snake. Yes, I love interactive play with her – especially when she throws tiny paper wads for me to fetch.

My brother Patrick and I were abandoned in a box that was left outside of a pet store. When the employees arrived and found us, they started offering us to customers. You know how dangerous it can be to say “free kittens,” but fortunately we didn’t end up in medical testing lab but in the arms of our Foster Meowmy.

Patrick and I look like twins except he has moustache markings on his face, and my face is powder white. Patrick and I tumble and pounce, climb and wrestle, and when we’re exhausted, we collapse in a kitten puddle. He’s a big, fast, messy eater, and I like to eat slowly like the lady I am. So when he comes up to gobble my food, I just politely step back and do without while he makes a pig of himself. Foster Meowmy says, “Lulu is just tooooooooo sweet.”

Now I’m ready to find my forever home. If you’re looking for a Lulu #lemon gal who’s as friendly and personable as I am chic, I’m the little girl for you! Although we’re available separately, Patrick and I think it'd be the cat’s meow if we could be adopted together. We could be playmates and cuddle buddies while you’re off at work or on vacation. Arrange to meet me today!

If you are interested in Lulu and would like to fill out an online Cat Adoption Application, please go to http://www.homelesspets.net/adoption-forms/cat-adoption.php . Submitting an application does not obligate you to adopt, but it initiates contact with us and gets the process started.  If you have questions prior to filling out the application or want to find out which adoption site this feline will be this week-end, email us at hope@homelesspets.net , and a volunteer will get back to you.

Their adoption process

Additional adoption info

Adopting an animal is a very serious decision and we want to be sure that our potential adoptive families have thought about the impact of this decision carefully. To adopt an animal through HOPE, we request that you complete an Adoption Application, a copy of which is available online for cats at http://www.homelesspets.net/adoption-forms/cat-adoption.php or for dogs at http://www.homelesspets.net/adoption-forms/dog-adoption.php. You may fill it out online or print a copy of the application and complete it prior to arriving at an adoption session. This will expedite the adoption process and will also assist our adoption counselors in matching you to a suitable pet.

We at HOPE make every effort to match our foster pets to appropriate homes. If you feel that we are too intrusive, please understand that it is because we care about their welfare.

Fees
All animals are neutered or spayed and have received age appropriate shots prior to being adopted. We ask that you provide a $100 donation for cats and a donation of $150 for dogs when you adopt your new family member from us. This donation helps us in defraying the costs of these and other medical needs of our animals.

Go meet their pets

Mobile adoption sessions are held on the weekends. All adoption sessions run from 12:00 - 4:00 pm at a variety of locations and days as noted on our website http://www.homelesspets.net/adoption-locations/. For more information, please contact us at hope@homelesspets.net

More about this rescue

Our mission is to end the homelessness of cats and dogs through foster to adoption, feral cat Trap-Neuter-Return, and education.

HOMELESS & ORPHANED PETS ENDEAVOR (HOPE) is an all-foster, no kill adoption group based in the Houston area.

HOPE covers the cost of general medical expenses for the animals in the program, such as altering, routine vaccinations and treatment for parasites. Our foster families are asked to provide food, shelter and love to the animals for which they care. They receive no payment for the services that they provide. Without them, and the other volunteers who so selflessly do what is necessary to keep HOPE afloat, it would not be possible to run this nonprofit corporation.

One aim of HOPE is to develop a network of area rescue and humane organizations which will facilitate the rescue and placement of a variety of animals. The goal is to never have to turn away an animal in need. By forming a coalition of humane and rescue groups in the Houston area, we could potentially place all animals who need a temporary home until they are placed into a permanent one.
