Meet Georgette!

Georgette came to us in the summer of 2021 when her little family was found by a farmer - they were missing their momma and all alone in the big scary world. We are so thankful that this farmer took the time to get them all to a safe place.

So why has Georgette been with us so long you might ask - well, it's for reasons beyond her control. She is one of the sweetest, gentlest, and most appreciative cats you'll ever meet - she is just happy to be in your presence. So why then? Georgette is considered one of our mildly special needs cats - she suffers from gastrointestinal issues if not kept on a proper diet and that, seems to be something most people do not want to be responsible for. It's so sad though, because they are missing out by passing her by. Over the years we've had the opportunity to do some trials (and errors) with Georgette and what we learned, is that she does best on a food that targets her specific issues. She is currently on a free-feeding schedule with Blue Buffalo's Blissful Belly dry formula and, a twice-a-day feeding schedule with the same brand's canned (wet) food. That's it. The food is slightly more expensive than plain cat chow, but it is so much better for her and, when you are feeding just one cat this type of food, it's pretty budget-friendly. On the rare occasion where Georgette has a flare-up, there are some supplements and additives that can be sprinkled on her food to help her get back on track.

Besides the personality traits mentioned above, Georgette is calm, accepting of other cats, great with kids, indifferent with dogs, and more on the lazy side than the super playful side (although she does have her spurts of playfulness). And as she's mostly a quiet gal, she'd be perfect as a companion to someone living in an apartment. Are you a movie watcher and homebody - Georgette would love that.
