Check out our sister brand, Kinship, for vet chat, a nutrition calculator, basic obedience training, and (much) more. So you're never flying solo in this pet parenting thing.
Pinta and her sister Nina were rescued from the dog pound. We believe they are chihuahua/dachshund/pug mixes (the curly tails come from the pug). Both girls have very soft fur and are young, probably between one and two years old. Pinta is smaller, weighing 16 pounds. The sisters occasionally get into squabbles, so we think it would be best if they went to separate homes.
Pinta is very affectionate, sweet, and playful. She is more outgoing and active. Pinta is a definite lap dog and will nap on your lap or shoulder whenever you watch TV. She is very playful and loves her toys. We also just discovered she loves snow. Pinta is crate-trained but needs more work with house and obedience training. She is smart and is learning quickly. Pinta loves her people and can be an escape artist. She will not stay in her outdoor kennel because she wants to be in the house with you. She also cannot be left in the backyard when you leave because she will try to escape to follow you. Pinta must be an inside dog and a loved member of the family. Pinta's new family should give her plenty of love, attention, and playtime. She must be walked on a leash and needs a secure, fenced yard to run and play.
Pinta is spayed, tattooed, fully vaccinated (DAPPvL2, Bordatella, rabies), and microchipped. Pinta is positive with a low load of heartworms (we are happy to explain). She now receives monthly heartworm and flea prevention. We are using the slow-kill treatment and she should test negative in 6 to 12 months. Pinta needs no special care for her heartworm treatment so she can be adopted to an approved applicant now. Pinta cannot travel on a transport to another state until she is heartworm-negative.
