Philly Jenkins Rescue is a 501(c)(3) San Francisco-based Cat Rescue founded in 2024. It is dedicated to rescuing cats needing high-risk medical aid and helping cats facing euthanasia find loving homes.
Philly Jenkins Rescue will provide a medical history; each adoption will include microchipping. All cats will undergo spaying or neutering before being placed in their new home. Cats that have not been spayed are available for pre-adoption.

Adoption Status: Available for Adoption
In October 2023, Mittens was obtained from the (SFSPCA). Philly Jenkins Rescue‘s founder encountered Mittens while volunteering shortly after he underwent an eye removal procedure. In order to facilitate Mittens’ recovery and ensure he received the necessary medical attention—which would have been financially burdensome for a new owner—the founder adopted him. This decision was made to provide the comprehensive medical care required for Mittens to flourish in a non-shelter environment.
About Mittens
Extremely affectionate. Highly adaptable to any environment with children and other pets. Mittens is a highly curious cat who is not afraid to inspect new environment changes. Mittens loves to play and his enrichment choices are laser pointers, chasing smaller breed dogs, and cat trees.
Dislikes: Baths.
All medical documentation is provided with adoption.
Health:
Philly Jenkins Rescue has offered a comprehensive range of services, which include neutering, microchipping, administration of flea treatment every month, and blood testing. Additionally, the organization conducts FIV testing (yielding a negative result), deworming, dental examinations, and treatment for ringworm and upper respiratory conditions,parasitology testing, ear cleaning, and a secondary eye surgery to address an infection that was not resolved during the initial procedure.
**Home Accessibility Requirements:** It is essential to ensure that pathways to food and windows are easily navigable. Mittens, experiences difficulties in assessing height and thus requires appropriately sized furniture to facilitate movement within the home environment. Avoid obstructions.
