My personality

My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Meet Piper! a gorgeous 2.5-year-old, tri-colored farm collie weighing around 45 pounds. She’s a fun-loving, sweet-natured companion who adores people, gets along well with dogs her size or larger, and loves children. While Piper is brimming with energy and curiosity, her prey drive means she isn’t suited for homes with small dogs, cats, or farm animals.

This adventurous girl is happiest exploring on-leash, as she has an impressive ability to clear 6-foot privacy fences and climb chain link of any height. A dog park or unattended yard isn’t the right fit for Piper—she’s a leash-only dog outside, but her curious nature makes every walk a joyful outing.

Piper is wonderful in the house, where she’s responsive, well-mannered, and eager to be by your side. She’s perfect for an active family or individual looking for a companion to share outdoor adventures without relying on a fenced-in yard. While she’d thrive in a rural setting with some space to explore, her ideal home is one that understands her need for safety and supervision.

If you’re seeking a loyal, intelligent, and lively dog to join you on life’s adventures, Piper might be the perfect match! Her foster is in Virginia Beach
Her adoption fee is $250 * we are looking for a homeowner fenced is not required sorry no apartments or renters she is not a dog park dog.

More about this rescue

Coastal is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization in Virginia. We are a foster home based animal Shelter dedicated to finding loving new homes for unwanted, stray, and abandoned Shelties, Collies, Old English Sheepdogs, doodles and other small dogs. We serve Virginia, Maryland, Delaware, the District of Columbia, eastern West Virginia, and south central Pennsylvania, and are staffed solely by volunteers. We also strive to educate the public about the characteristics of the herding breed and the rewards of giving a home to a rescued dog.

The majority of the Coastal dogs are turned in to us by their previous owners.
