My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

She'll be your best Bud!

Yo bros! I am Sativa and I am an 8 months old, 25 lb female spayed Terrier mix. I have been a TAP rescue but was a bit naughty at my foster home about guarding my pawrents from the kiddos. So I went to an amazing trainer Ashley @FamilyDogConsulting for board and train. Check me out there! I have been good and house trained. I am bathroom trained, settle in my crate after a few teeny whines. I am good on the leash, may bark a bit, but again, doing great! I am on Fluoxetine to help me.

I am a fun loving gal and adore playing with doggos. I enjoy training time and fun time at the beach. I can be active all day and nap when it's calm. Such a sweetie that I am! I am not sure about cats as I haven't had experience with them yet. I would be best in an adults only home; more on that in a bit. I love my munchies with treats and food, chewing bones and being a beach bum! Sunbathing is a passion project. Adventure is my second name with hikes, pack walks, totally my jam. I have a bit of leash reactivity that has improved a great deal. Regarding kiddos, I was guarding my people and food previously and I have worked on it a lot. I have shown tremendous improvement and we will continue doing so.

Just doob it and adopt me, if you want a fun dog who is small but has energy and athletic ability of a larger dog. I am a lover girl and great with my peeps! With strangers, give me a mo'.  An active home will be ideal for our adventures together. I'd be amazing with or without dogs but must be taken to daycare, parks, play dates, etc. as I am a social butterfly.

My adoption fee is $400 and that includes spaying/neutering, shots, and microchip. If you want to take me home, please fill out the form on the website here: https://theanimalpad.org/adoption-application/

Their adoption process

Additional adoption info

We prioritize local San Diego applicants. We do not provide transport of dogs to other states, and don't allow the dogs to fly in the cargo of the plane.
Our adoption process from start to finish, involves 3 standard forms, and 2 situational.
All potential applicants must be capable of providing their adopted pet with routine and emergency veterinary care (yearly health checks, keeping vaccinations current, heartworm/flea preventatives, and immediate care in the event the animal is sick or injured). They are required to license their pet, and keep an identification tag on their pet at all times.
All applicants must agree to a home check, and provide us with a veterinary reference, or personal references if you're a first-time pet owner. Our home checks are not to invade the privacy of the applicants, we do this to ensure the pet is going into a safe home. We do not discriminate against non-homeowners, or those living in apartments, condos, or otherwise.
Our adoption fees vary from $150-1000.
Applicants must agree in writing that if for any reason they are unable to keep or care for their pet, the pet will be surrendered back to our rescue and not re-homed, turned over to a shelter, pound, rescue, new owner, sold, etc.

More about this rescue

Overview
The Animal Pad is a nonprofit, all-breed dog rescue devoted to saving the lives of dogs facing euthanasia at high kill animal shelters and off the streets of Mexico. We rescue, rehabilitate, and re-home locally.

We are dedicated to animal advocacy, and educating dog owners on the importance of spaying and neutering their pets. We are a foster based rescue, and rely heavily on the kindness and generosity of the amazing people who make donations toward the rescue and care of the dogs we save.

We are always looking for adopters, fosters, donations, volunteers, etc.. Please let us know if you would like to get involved by contacting us at one of the email addresses found below.
