My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

How this pet arrived:

This pet was brought in by their previous owner.

Why Summer might be the one for you.
for you:

Summer is a shy, sweet cat looking for the next place to call her own! She will need adequate time to adjust as she learns her new space and owner(s). Summer would love a patient adopter with a quiet, low traffic household, that can provide her all the time she needs to blossom and show her true colors! This may sound like a tall order for Summer, but her personality is worth the wait! Once Summer is comfortable, she loves playing with her favorite wand toys, sun bathing, and snuggling up in a cozy spot! If Summer sounds like your new best friend, come down to our San Diego campus and adopt her today!

At SDHS:
Summer has been vaccinated,
microchipped and spayed. She is now ready for her new home!

AT BEHAVIOR CENTER: This animal is receiving a little extra support from specialized Caregivers and an assigned Trainer. To begin the adoption process and trainer-facilitated interaction, please reach out to us directly at sdcadoptions@sdhumane.org and provide a good callback number.

More about this shelter

San Diego Humane Society, an open-admission shelter, is creating a more humane world by inspiring compassion and advancing the welfare of animals and people. Our lifesaving safety net has helped San Diego become the largest city in the U.S. to keep healthy and treatable shelter animals from being euthanized. We are a private, independent, nonprofit organization that is not affiliated with any other humane society or society for the prevention of cruelty to animals.

With campuses in El Cajon, Escondido, Oceanside, Ramona and San Diego, we provide animal services for 14 cities within San Diego County. We not only care for 50,000 animals in our communities but also share the expertise we have gained through our innovative programs with shelters nationwide so they can save more lives in their communities.

While our influence is expanding nationally, our top priority is meeting the needs of San Diego. We provide exceptional care for all animals through world-class veterinary medicine, shelter and most of all: love.
