Check out our sister brand, Kinship, for vet chat, a nutrition calculator, basic obedience training, and (much) more. So you're never flying solo in this pet parenting thing.
I found a new home! Plenty of my friends are looking for one too. Check out other pets at this shelter, or start a new search.

Here's what the humans have to say about me:
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website.
Bentley 6856 is a beautiful young energetic GSD, just turning three 11/5/2024. At 84 lbs he's a healthy gentle giant, happy boy with exceptional coloration looking for someone to bond with in his furever home. He was purchased from a breeder with his sister, which resulted in a bonded pair. His owner turned the pair over to another owner, who kept them for a year then turned them into the local shelter after the first hurricane struck NC and before the second. He and his sister Lola were rescued by VGSR.
He is highly intelligent, warms up quickly to people, and is reserved around strangers. He's house trained, knows basic commands and is food motivated, loves to play with dogs and chase a ball but can be a energetic if he gets excited. He hasn't chewed anything, and loves to be with you. He seems to have gotten away with a few things at his previous home but learns boundaries quickly. I'm asking that only approved adopters reach out to me. I also want to make sure that he will have free roam of the house as he should not be in a crate all day. I would also love for him to go to a active family or one with another established dog as he loves to play. Bentley or 'Bennie' will make some lucky family the best dog ever!
