My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Button is a cute short-haired gray tabby and white female kitten about 3 months old (DOB about 9/15/24).  She was named Button because she is cute as a button!  She is VERY playful and active. Button loves to play with toys or other cats and is never bored. She likes to be held.  She loves playing with her feline friends in her foster home, and we think she’d also do well with dogs and kids. While Button is sweet and loving, she takes time to build confidence with humans she’s not familiar with. She can be a bit shy at first and will need a family who is patient and understanding as she adjusts to her new environment. But the wait is worth it — once she feels comfortable, Button will shower you with love and affection.  Button is negative for feline leukemia and aids, had two distemper vaccines, and been spayed. The additional vaccines (the third distemper and rabies) are included in the adoption fee. Preference will be given to We are looking for an adopter who has a young playmate/companion for the Button.  We typically do not adopt kittens less than 6 months old to homes where they will be a solo pet, and we do not believe that Button will do well as a solo pet.   If you’re ready to give this special kitten a little time to settle in and receive lots of love in return, please contact Holly at 865-671-4564 or hhfrey1@tds.net.  Button can’t wait to meet her perfect match!

We are a small, private feline-only rescue group dedicated to the rescue, care and placement of homeless cats and kittens. The majority of our cats and kittens come from high kill shelters. Through our application and interview process, we strive to make the 'purrfect' match to insure a loving, lifelong home for those in our care. We do NOT receive funding from any national organization, federal or state governments.

Adoption application

Go meet their pets

At this time we are not attending adoption fairs. To adopt, we ask that you first complete an application (email hhfrey1@tds.net to request and indicate the cat(s) of interest). Approved applications will be allowed to meet the cat in a home environment. Completing the application does not obligate you to adopt.

More about this rescue

Stray Connection is a small organization of private foster homes (no shelter or store-front) that takes in kittens/cats from shelters outside of Knoxville that are typically high-kill, low-funded. These cats are brought to Knoxville where they receive the necessary vet care. Because our cats live in private homes, we know them well. It is our mission to make the best match of the cat's personality and individual needs with an approved adopter.
