Looking for a nine and dandy boy? Hoping to enjoy the niner things in life? Nine is the dog for you!

He is a true phenomenine! Nine times out of ten he is well behaved. Nine is house trained and does well with other dogs. He loves walks and getting to run around in the yard. He also enjoys a nice long car ride.. because he just sleeps as soon as he steps into a car. Nine does best with company, he doesn’t like feeling lonely or companineless. If he must be left alone, I would recommend a crate until he is familiar with the environment. He loves having another dog friend and knows how to use a doggy door.

Best of all, Nine loves to cuddle and show his love. He will make you feel like you’re on cloud nine everyday! He is a brave and good boy hoping to find his forever home.

Our shelter has more than 500 available cats and dogs every day!
For pets at the shelter: Adoptions must be completed in-person at the shelter. AAC is open for adoption walk-ins every day from 11 a.m. – 7 p.m. A shelter pet’s availability can change at any time, so we recommend choosing a few favorites.
For pets in foster: Go to www.AustinAnimalCenter.org to find the pet's profile and click that pet's pink “Adopt Me” button. This will prompt you to complete an adoption questionnaire. Submitting an application does not hold the animal for you.
We have dozens of animals that won't be listed online yet because they're still in their stray hold period, but can be pre-adopted at the shelter in case their owner doesn't come for them.

Adoption Fees:
$80 cats & kittens up to 6 years old
$80 dogs 6 months to 6 years, 30 lbs and up
$100 dogs under 30 lbs and/or under 6 months
$30 small animals
No fee for senior pets 7 years and older

The Austin Animal Center is open for adoptions every day from 11:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m. Please note, Adoption and Pet Resource Center lines close at 6:00 p.m. We're closed Christmas Day, New Year's Day and Thanksgiving Day to give our staff some time with family.
Interested adopters should come to the shelter during business hours to meet with a counselor start looking for a pet who'll be a good fit. Our counselors and volunteers are happy to help with that process.
