Doozy is a 5 month old Golden Retriever x Great Pyrenees mix who’s excited to leap into adventure with you! Doozy was rescued from the shelter where he was surrendered for reasons unknown. We agreed to help find him a forever home and scooped up this smiley boy as soon as we could! He’s been melting hearts and giving kisses ever since and we can’t wait to find his forever people. This boy will be on the large side when fully grown, so homes should be prepared for all that comes with that. Come and meet Dapper Doozy and start your adventure!

Doozy is a friendly, playful, energetic, and snuggly dog who adores his people and his zoomies! He loves following his hunans from room to room as they go about their day, so get ready for a big little shadow. He adores his play sessions in the yard with the resident dog and would happily race around playing tag for hours at a time if you let him. Doozy is super curious about the world around him and wants to explore all the sights and smells it has to offer. He’s super excited to start chipping away at his adventure bucket list and we can see him joining his forever people on hikes, runs, camping trips, and so much more! Doozy has no idea he isn't small, so he will try and sit himself down on your lap if you let him. He’s like a giant weighted blanket! We would love to find him a home where he has a yard, a playmate, and a family ready to help him get his zoomies out so he can flop down happily at the end of the day for cuddle time. Our favorite thing about Doozy! He’s a movie buff! He loves nature documentaries and any ad where he can see animals. What a hilarious dude he is!

Doozy starts his morning at 8 AM with a trip outside to the bathroom. Once he comes back inside, he plays a little before he’s ready for breakfast. He goes out into the yard every few hours for potty breaks and gets a long walk in the afternoon with his foster family. In the evening, Doozy has dinner at 7 PM and then goes outside a few more times for playtime and sniffs. He goes to bed at 10 PM in his crate.

Doozy lives with two large dogs currently and loves his constant play sessions with them. He would be best suited for a very active home. Doozy walks well on a leash but would benefit from additional training and socialization, as he’s still a young pup! Interested homes should be prepared to discuss how they will help Doozy get his energy out. Come and meet this dapper dude Doozy today!

Doozy is only an option for homes with prior dog experience. Kids should be over the age of 6.

More about this rescue

We are passionate folks who love dogs and love people! We strive to make the most appropriate match between human and canine. Because our dogs live in foster homes we know about their temperament and personality and therefore can help families and individuals decide if the dog is a good match or not. We are excited to help people find the right pooch for them and look forward to meeting great folks and welcoming them into the DPS Family.
