My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Meet Summer, a young, friendly and sweet soul who has a heart full of playfulness and energy. She's brave, always ready for an adventure, whether it's a walk in the park or a game of fetch. Her tail wags with joy at the sight of a new toy, and she's quick to give out doggy kisses to anyone who'll accept them. Summer's bubbly personality makes her a joy to be around. She's eager to learn new tricks and commands, proving her intelligence and adaptability. Summer's boundless energy and loving nature make her the perfect companion for an active family or individual. She would do best in a home without another dog. The HAWS behavior department would love to meet with Summer's forever family to discuss how to best transition her into her new home. Her sweetness and friendliness are sure to bring warmth and happiness into any home. Adopt Summer and let her sunny disposition brighten up your life.
Summer is also eligible for our foster to adopt program.
To participate in the Foster to Adopt program, you will need to complete the Foster to Adopt application which requires you to watch two short videos (less than 9 minutes total for the two) and answer 8 questions. More about this rescue

Humane Animal Welfare Society (HAWS) is an open-admission, no-kill shelter dedicated to strengthening the relationship between animals and humans through adoptions and education – making a more compassionate community possible.

Our mission is to lead the community in animal welfare and assure sanctuary for animals in need. To that end, we envision a community where all animals are treated with compassion, dignity and respect. We invite the public to join us in our cause to spread humane sentiments throughout our community for the betterment of animals and people alike.

Incorporated in 1965, HAWS has grown along with our community, evolving into a vibrant organization and a lively facility that is the #1 resource for pets and their people.
