My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

How this pet arrived:
This pet was brought in by a community member on July 06, 2024.

Why this pet is the one for you:
Meet Cooler, a male pup who is totally cool. Though initially shy, Cooler warms up quickly with patience and treats. Once he's comfortable, Cooler blossoms into an energetic young dog who loves to play with any kind of toy you offer him and will happily show off his zoomies. Cooler is a dog who is looking for a patient, mature home where he can continue his positive reinforcement training. He is your typical "bull in a china shop" boy who is now learning boundaries. He has shown he needs experienced adults (or older children who can take guidance) to help him be the best dog he can be! If you're looking to provide a loving home for a sweet soul and gain a loyal companion, visit our San Diego Campus today to meet Cooler!

At SDHS:
This pet has been vaccinated, microchipped and spayed/neutered. This pet is now ready for their new home!

More about this shelter

San Diego Humane Society, an open-admission shelter, is creating a more humane world by inspiring compassion and advancing the welfare of animals and people. Our lifesaving safety net has helped San Diego become the largest city in the U.S. to keep healthy and treatable shelter animals from being euthanized. We are a private, independent, nonprofit organization that is not affiliated with any other humane society or society for the prevention of cruelty to animals.

With campuses in El Cajon, Escondido, Oceanside, Ramona and San Diego, we provide animal services for 14 cities within San Diego County. We not only care for 50,000 animals in our communities but also share the expertise we have gained through our innovative programs with shelters nationwide so they can save more lives in their communities.

While our influence is expanding nationally, our top priority is meeting the needs of San Diego. We provide exceptional care for all animals through world-class veterinary medicine, shelter and most of all: love.
