Here's what the humans have to say about me:
Eeyore is a Pitbull mix with a heart full of love. Weighing 46 pounds, he’s an easy-going sweetheart who has overcome a tough past of neglect and blossomed into a healthy and playful companion. He's sure to win you over with his charm, and he's so smart, he knows he's tricked you into loving him too!
Despite his tough start, Eeyore’s past hasn’t dampened his spirit. He loves cuddling up with his humans (yes, all 46 pounds of him will happily sit on your lap), playing frisbee, and enthusiastically destroying stuffed animals. When he’s happy, his tail wags so fast it could power a windmill! His favorite activity, however, is just being with you and getting petted.
Eeyore is an easygoing, low-maintenance dog who enjoys walks and is great on a leash. He would thrive with a family who can give him daily walks, some playtime, and lots of affection.
At home, he's very polite and only barks occasionally when someone comes to the door. Eeyore is fully house-trained, though he had a few accidents initially as he settled into his new surroundings. He’s crate-trained but doesn’t necessarily need a crate, as he’s well-behaved and finds comfort in the safety of his new environment.
This mellow soul gets along wonderfully with other dogs and has been tolerant with cats, showing no interest in them at all. While he hasn’t been extensively tested with kids, his calm demeanor suggests he’d do well with older children due to occasional jumping.
If you’re looking for a loyal, affectionate companion with a heartwarming story, Eeyore is ready to wag his way into your home and your heart!

Pet Haven is a foster-based rescue. Our animals live with foster families until they are placed in permanent homes and their foster families get to know the dogs and cats learning important information about the animals. For example, the foster family will know if the dog or cat is good with other animals or children, and will have a good idea of what kind of training, attention, and special needs the pet may require. This makes our foster families great resources for potential adopters!

Our Mission
Pet Haven improves the lives of pets and the people who love them by rescuing, rehabilitating, and rehoming dogs and cats; reducing pet overpopulation by supporting spay and neuter efforts, and providing resources to people that help strengthen the human-animal bond.
Our Vision
A Minnesota where all pets live in safe, loving homes.
Our Values
Excellence in service and care; community; integrity; innovation; perseverance; compassion; a rewarding place to volunteer
How We Help
Spay/Neuter Initiative Program: Providing support to end pet overpopulation in Minnesota
Owner Surrender: Providing a safe haven for pet owners
Foster: Committed to finding forever homes for cats and dogs
Phoenix Fund for Special Needs: Providing veterinary care for animals in need of healing
What We Do
We help dogs and cats find homes with loving families through foster-based care. Every dog and cat lives with a foster family until they find their forever families. We provide all of their basic needs including proper food, veterinary care, behavior training, and supplies.
Through in-home fostering, we learn about each animal’s temperament, personality, likes/dislikes, and any medical needs. With this first-hand information, we can then find the right family for each dog and cat.
Our volunteers also educate the public on responsible companion animal care and represent respect for animals at all times. Whether we’re working with prospective new families, meeting people at public events, or socializing with friends and family, we encourage others to view and treat their pets as members of the family. We are their guardians, and they depend on us for companionship and care.
We spay/neuter prior to adoption.
We microchip all our Pet Haven Pets and remain as a secondary contact.
We make sure all pets are up to date on required vaccinations
We test for Heartworm and Lymes in all our dogs and are transparent in the results and treament
We test for FeLV/FIV and are transparent in the results. We believe that cats who test positive still deserve a chance at a quality home.
We do not euthanize animals unless they have untreatable health or behavioral conditions that deny them an acceptable quality of life or makes them a serious threat to people, other animals, or themselves.
How We Operate
We rely on adoption fees, tax-deductible donations, grants, and special events to keep our rescue operating. Our staff, Board of Directors, and volunteers have provided the passion and commitment to keep Pet Haven a safe haven for animals for almost 70 years.
We are committed to preventing pet homelessness through the SNIP Grant. Since 2005, we have granted more than $240,000 to organizations in Minnesota to support spay/neuter initiatives.
