My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Meet Tuna!

Need a pro/am bed tester in your house? This gorgeous big boy with a grey velvet coat is on his way to Colorado and would be happy to offer his skills in trade for some love and stability.

We're not sure of his breed, but he may have a touch of Russian Blue or British Shorthair. He's a very handsome guy and we're learning more about him every day.

Although it'll be a few weeks before he arrives, we're now actively looking for a great forever home for him. Please spread the word.

Tuna is a bit shy when meeting new people for the first time (normal for most kitties), but then he warms up. An ear scratch and gentle face rub will go a long way to make lifelong friends with this sweet boy.

We think he'd thrive in a calm and loving home with plenty of snuggling, lap time and beds.

For more info and/or to apply to adopt Tuna, send us an email at SummitDogRescue@gmail.com, telling us a bit about yourself, your home environment and your lifestyle. A volunteer will get back to you shortly. Thanks.

Additional adoption info

First you must fill out an application which we will review. Then we will do a phone interview, reference check and finally a home visit before a dog is placed in your home. We ONLY adopt to homes where the dog is an indoor dog, part of the family and treated as such. We stress excellent nutrition, proper training and follow up with all our adopters.

We are probably have one of the more thorough and difficult adoption processes... and we love that people want to adopt and don't want to discourage adopters! So please, if you're in a hurry, or not an exceptional furever home - please try other rescues or a SHELTER is a great option too!
