Here's what the humans have to say about me:
This is from the AKC Website
"Akitas are burly, heavy-boned spitz-type dogs of imposing stature. Standing 24 to 28 inches at the shoulder, Akitas have a dense coat that comes in several colors, including white. The head is broad and massive, and is balanced in the rear by a full, curled-over tail. The erect ears and dark, shining eyes contribute to an expression of alertness, a hallmark of the breed. Akitas are quiet, fastidious dogs. Wary of strangers and often intolerant of other animals, Akitas will gladly share their silly, affectionate side with family and friends. They thrive on human companionship. The large, independent-thinking Akita is hardwired for protecting those they love. They must be well socialized from birth with people and other dogs."
It's pretty dang accurate for Ali as well, once she loves you she LOVES you but you have to EARN it.
So if you have Akita experience give us a call! We love this girl and want to see her THRIVE.

Meet Our Animals
To meet an animal at our Shelter, please make an appointment by calling 541-265-0720. One of our friendly Animal Care Specialists will work with you to find a good match for your family. Please bring all members of your family (including dogs if you are adopting another dog; dogs must also be licensed) for a socially distance appropriate meet and greet. If you rent, we will need landlord permission for the adoption.
How Do the Animals Come to Us?
Animals come to us lost as strays, surrendered by owners, or in protective custody due to abuse or neglect. We place all of our adoptable animals in homes or in the Second Chance Program (transporting to a rescue organization or another shelter), and we never euthanize animals for space. We provide extensive medical treatment, thanks to our Medical Fund, and all possible behavior modification training to give every animal their chance at a new life.
Keep Visiting Us!
If you don't find your perfect match with us right away, our Animal Care Specialists are willing to provide you with additional resources. You may also sign up for an alert through Adopt a Pet that will let you know when a new potential pet is posted.
