My personality

My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Meet Topaz! A stunning one-year-old beauty with a gleaming, white coat and a playful, curious personality to match! If you're looking for a cat who loves to hang out, explore, and bring joy to your home, this beautiful girl would love to be the one for you! Topaz is a natural explorer, who finds joy in the simple pleasures of watching the world through a window or chasing a laser light across the floor. This young lady is a big fan of toys – while laser toys are her absolute favourite, some catnip, or even a good cardboard box will make her day. And a sturdy scratching post is essential - this gorgeous girl likes to keep her nails looking their best! Topaz likes to sleep in bed with her humans, and will wake them up with sweet kisses, chirps and purrs. Topaz loves the attention of her humans, but she also values her independence. She loves gentle pets and will happily stay close, keeping you company. With time, Topaz will allow you to pick her up carry her. Topaz can be a bit of a diva and needs a home filled with patience, love, and kindness and an environment where she can take her time to settle in and feel safe. Topaz appreciates gentle handling to help her feel secure and ensure her comfort. But, if she feels overwhelmed, she might give a quick nip as a gentle reminder to respect her limits. Topaz’s perfect home will be with experienced adults or older children who can read her cues, but also an active home as well, as she is still very young and playful! A home with no other pets is a must as well.

Topaz came to us from animal services with her two kittens. We don’t know anything about her life before her arrival and has lived in a few foster homes with us, as we learned more about her personality, likes and dislikes.

Topaz has experienced several changes recently. But with time and patience, her affectionate, playful personality will bloom, and you’ll have a loyal best friend and companion by your side. All she needs is someone willing to see her as the gem she is, waiting to be treasured. Could that be you?

More about this rescue

Home at Last Rescue (HALR) is a Registered Canadian Charity, that is 100% volunteer driven. Our goal is to rescue cats from substandard living conditions and give them the loving homes they deserve.

We provide medical care, emotional support and a loving environment while preparing them to find their forever homes. With no physical location, all of our cats and kittens reside in loving foster homes across the Greater Toronto Area until they are ready for adoption.

We receive no government funding and rely solely on adoption fees, donations and our fundraising efforts to support our initiatives. We believe there is a home for every cat and a cat for every home.
