- Dog-tolerant: Fine being around other dogs but prefers her space during close interactions.
- Adores humans of all ages and has a special fondness for men.
- Enjoys squeaky toys and has a cute, confident strut.
- Rarely barks and snores adorably while sleeping.
- Balanced personality, happy to relax but perks up with tail wags when you enter the room.
- Walks beautifully on a leash and enjoys outdoor time.
- Crate trained: Settles in comfortably and sleeps through the night.
- Has a few missing teeth, and will require future dental care.
- Guards her food, so caution is needed around kids during meals. Prefers wet food.
- Cat-curious: May chase, but her response depends on the cat's behavior. Proper introductions with cats is always advised.
Adoption Donations are $275 for an adult, $375 for puppies (a dog under one year of age), and $175 for a senior dog (based on the age of the dog). More "sought out breeds may have a higher adoption donation) Adoption donations are to be made via cash, or credit/debit card. There is a $5 fee to run cards. We do not accept checks for adoption fees.
Please remember to bring a martingale collar and leash (non-retractable) with you the day of the adoption.
We typically have adoption events on Wednesdays 5-7pm, Fridays 6-8pm, and Saturdays 11am-3pm. Our adoption center is located at 3602 Lafayette Blvd, Suite 101, Fredericksburg, VA 22408. It's important that you keep an eye on your emails for any changes or updates during the adoption process.
Old Dominion Humane Society is a volunteer based organization. We are run completely by volunteers, who also have full time jobs and families, so we appreciate your patience. Currently, the average timeframe for a response to your application is 3 days.
