My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Meet gorgeous, Nissan. Has wispy white streaks mixed in with her black fur. She got her name from her adventure being stuck in the engine of a Nissan auto for an entire day. It took an hour to for her rescuers to lure her to a spot where they could grab her and get her safely out of harm’s way. Now in a loving foster home, she loves and adores all of the humans and immediately became besties with the resident cats and other foster kitties in the home. She’s brave around the resident dog. Her foster mom thinks she would do well with a dog after proper introduction. She can be VERY snuggly - she likes to be on a chest or under a blanket. She absolutely adores sleeping ON the humans in the home. But, the rest of the time she is a total spaz! She literally bounces around, wrestles and plays with the utmost enthusiasm. And, best trait of all – her sweet contented purr can be heard from down the hall - the vet couldn’t hear her heartbeat because she never stopped purring. She just has the funniest and most endearing personality. Her estimated birth date is Septenber 7, 2024. Cats adopted from TMHPR are indoor only.

All applications are submitted to an adoption board for approval to ensure a happy forever home for both owner and pet. In effort to reduce the possibility of the pet being returned, adopters are carefully screened to be sure that the personality of both the pet and adopter are a good match. We will be in contact with you during this process.

Puppies are ready to go home after their 2nd of 3 shots and spay/neuter are complete. The 3rd. shot is included in the adoption fee.

All pets are to be kept as indoor, non-working, members of your family and are spayed and neutered before being adopted. These pets also receive all appropriate vaccinations and are microchipped.

A safe pet home visit is included in the adoption fee.

We hold a Meet & Greet every Saturday (holidays may alter our schedule) with a few of our pets in attendance to meet. Hours of Meet & Greet are 10am to 1pm at 580 W Arapaho Rd, Ste 433, Richardson, TX 75080 (Directly behind NAPA Auto Parts.

Take Me Home Pet Rescue is a 100% nonprofit organization committed to reducing the homeless pet population by removing dogs and cats from shelters and other unfortunate situations and having them spayed, neutered, vaccinated and microchipped before being adopted to their forever families.

We consists of a small core group of volunteers who care about the welfare of our homeless pets. We are located in Richardson, Texas and survive solely from your generous donations and fundraiser's (after fundraiser...after fundraiser!). All of our pets live in our homes as we do not have an actual facility. Because they live within the dynamics of the foster families and are exposed to children of all ages and other pets, we find that that our foster cats and dogs are more adoptable as they have already been socialized to live in a family environment.

We have been in existence since April 2008 and have already rescued over 600 dogs and cats from local kill shelters and other unfortunate situations.

All dogs and cats are spayed and neutered before being adopted. These pets also receive all appropriate vaccinations and are microchipped. In effort to reduce the possibility of the pet being returned, adopters are carefully screened to be sure that the personality of both the pet and adopter are a good match.
