My personality

My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Hey Y'all,
Our names are Beans (F), Dixie (F), and Merle (F). Our momma's name is Hairy, and she weighs about 17 pounds. The daddy dog belonged to the neighbor and weighed about the same size. He was as cute as our mom. Here we are and just the cutest, sweetest, snuggle bugs you have ever seen. We have only been around two humans. The day these pictures were taken was the first time we had met strangers. We were very shy and only wanted to be held by our human momma.

We are tiny and would be great as a lap baby or carried in a purse or backpack. We are not big barkers. We are dog-social and not house-trained. We have even met a few cats, but they are much bigger than we are.

My ideal family would have patience and love for a snuggler like me, live a quiet lifestyle (I live in the country), and I would, in turn, always give you all the love I have to offer. Please send an email to alittlelonger2home@gmail.com and request an application. I am waiting.

We are very careful with our adoptions for these orphans are in our homes. They are family to us. If it does not feel right, there is probably a reason. The adoption is cancelled.

More about this rescue

My name is Carla Carlton. We (my husband and I) are retired militay. He served in the Air Force for 25 years. We have always done comunity service. So, when we got ready to retire, we found a place we wanted to live and bought a home. Well, the town we lived in has/had a high kill shelter. This broke our hearts.
Around this same time, I met a lady who fostered for Friends of Homeless Animals, RI. One day I got a call from FOHA there was a poodle in our shelter and he was on the short list. I went and pulled him. Roie (FOHA), helped set me up to foster and list our orphans to adopt with families who really wanted them. I am not sure how long ago it was, 16-18 years, I think. The rest is history. Through them and Mountain Pet Rescue, CO (and a few others in CO, UT, IA, IL, OR, CA, MS...), we have placed over 2500 dogs/ puppies and cats.
