My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Meet Fir!

This handsome man came to us from a home with 4 other cats and is now looking for his purrfect new home. Fir is a very sweet gentleman and quickly overcomes any shyness to come out for cheek rubs and pets.
Despite living with other cats before, Fir doesn't seem particularly fond of them and may enjoy being a single cat to a home, though he may get along with another feline friend with proper, slow introductions. This sweet man would be a perfect companion for anyone looking for a quiet and gentle, but affectionate cat.

If you are interested in adopting Fir, you can come meet him Tuesday-Saturday 12 pm-4 pm. Walk in's are prioritized.

In order to prepare for your visit, you can submit an Adoption Questionnaire as well at;

The BC SPCA is a non-profit organization dedicated to protecting and enhancing the quality of life for domestic, farm and wild animals in British Columbia. Through its locations and operations across the province the BC SPCA provides emergency medical care and sheltering for more than 37,000 animals each year. The society also conducts more than 4,600 cruelty investigations and provides a wide range of advocacy and education programs for domestic, farm and wild animals through its Provincial Office.

Our mission, vision and charter is at the heart of all we do to rescue, protect and care for animals. It is also the driving force behind our animal welfare and education programs.

Our Charter:

The BC SPCA Charter is the foundation that guides the work we do:

Whereas:

The world is inhabited by many species sharing a common ecosystem of air, earth, and water. We recognize and value our interconnectedness with all animals.

Therefore:

The BC Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals is dedicated to protecting and enhancing the quality of life for the animals of the world we share.

We pledge our energies to inspire and mobilize society to create a world in which all animals, who depend on humans for their well-being, experience, as a minimum, five essential freedoms:

1. Freedom from hunger and thirst

2. Freedom from pain, injury, and disease

3. Freedom from distress

4. Freedom from discomfort

5. Freedom to express behaviours that promote well-being.
