A volunteer writes: Sonny, what's your story? Another mystery cat...brought by a mysterious person to a fire station...Yep, just like that... Sonny is a good looking ginger dressed in vibrant colors. He was quite shy for a few days after his arrival but he is now all ready for meets and greets. Who does not love a red cat? Sonny is so worth getting to know!. There is still some shyness in him. He is a little wary of sudden noises and moves but enjoys his visitors. Just entice him with a few treats, say a few soft words and scratch the tip of his nose. Sonny, resting in his main cabin, will move forward and lean into pets. His next stop...Your lap! Sonny is quite a sweet middle aged gentleman who might not have had the TLC you and me would bestow on a pet, but he is one handsome fellow who appreciates company and all what comes with it... Sonny is ready for a wonderful life to start with ..you. Come and meet him very soon at the Manhattan Care Center.
Sonny was in the den in loaf position, alert, sniffed and ate squeeze up, stretching his head out slightly, but not coming fully out of the side door. Then squeeze up was offered through the front door and he again stretched his head out to eat. He didn't come farther forward. He accepted all petting and in time, warmed up and started leaning in for cheek rubbing and with more time stretched out further to get more treats and petting. While his head was stretched out, his ears went sideways, but continued to allow petting. He's a sweet cat who needs time to warm up.
Sonny interacts with the observer, solicits & appreciates attention, is easy to handle and tolerates all petting. This cat is showing behavior appropriate for cat parents with either an average amount of cat experience or demonstrate a basic understanding of typical cat behavior. Primary Color: Orange Tabby Weight: 8.7 Age: 8yrs 1mths 0wks
