Here's what the humans have to say about me:
Puff, our 7 pound 1 year old terrier mix (maybe a Yorkie-Poo but he feels like a baby chick), understands cozy culture. Puff loves nothing more than a sweater, a blanket straight out of the dryer, and a warm lap to snooze on. Obviously he's never had a mug of hot cocoa, but if hot cocoa could be a dog, it would be Puff. He's looking for a family who appreciates the art of staying in.
Puff was found stray and emaciated. He was really sick so the shelter asked us for help. Since we've had him, Puff has gained weight and is now healthy and happy. We suspect Puff had never had anything of his own so when we gave him a stuffed cow (which is comically too big for him), Puff was thrilled. He is obsessed with his new toy and takes it everywhere with him.
His foster family describes Puff as a "ball of love" and "the sweetest dog they've ever fostered". Puff doesn't have a mean bone in him. He is friendly with all people and is good with the other small dogs in his foster home. Puff isn't necessarily playful with his dog roommates though; he prefers to be glued to his person. Puff thrives with belly rubs and grooming sessions (which is good since his hair is a bit unruly). We haven't seen Puff with cats but suspect he would do just fine.
Puff is crate trained and quiet when left alone. He has come a long way with his potty training, but still has an occasional accident. Puff never learned how to walk on a leash, but is trying. He is a very gentle soul and loud barks and noises spook Puff. For that reason, he should live with older, respectful kids and other calm dogs that won't scare him.
Puff is microchipped and is current on his flea and heartworm preventatives.
Being only 7 pounds, we're sure Puff's future collection of knitted outfits won't take up much space. Neither will his stuffed cow bestie. Have room? Apply to adopt at www.stumptownstrays.org
