Born approximately July 1, 2024
Chevy is a golden tabby whose fur is as soft as a chinchilla. He was found at about 6 weeks old in a garage just south of Glenwood, Iowa. He was hissy and grungy. His rear leg was a stump. Chevy was immediately taken to a veterinarian who checked him thoroughly and bathed him as well. She believed that his umbilical cord had wrapped around his leg and cut off circulation in utero so he was born with a stump.
As he grew bigger and learned how to be friendly, his stump caused mobility problems and got infected. SOLAS sponsored a 'Go Fund Me' to pay for the amputation that the vet suggested. It was a good decision. Chevy healed from his surgery and has been on the move since. He wrestles and chases other kittens. He attempts to climb the Christmas tree but isn't especially successful.
Chevy and Meadow (tortoise shell female kitten) climb and play and romp for hours. She was instrumental in helping him get past his hissy habits. They cuddle with each other and love to crash curled up together on a lap
