Here's what the humans have to say about me:
Lily, our petite 30 pound 11 month old husky, is about to have a birthday. If you have a birthday this time of year, you know how disappointing it can be to be forgotten or have your birthday lumped into other holiday activities. We don't want this for Lily. She's so perfect she deserves a celebration of her own. So for Lily's birthday, we're going to find her a family.
Our Lily was taken to the shelter after she was hit by a car. Her rear leg was badly damaged and she needed an amputation. The shelter told us that when Lily needed her bandage changed, she stood there perfectly still, wagging her tail, just thrilled for the attention. We had to meet her.
Lily has recovered flawlessly from her amputation. Like all tripods, Lily can do all the same things other dogs can do and she's ready for adventures. Lily is honestly as wonderful as the shelter noted. She's very friendly but not obnoxiously so. On walks, she doesn't pull on the leash; instead she is patient and observant, waiting for people to come say hello to her. Lily loves other dogs and is happy to meet them both off and on lead. She takes cues well and is playful and polite. We have not seen Lily with cats but suspect she'd be fine with dog savvy felines and proper introductions.
In the house, Lily is so good that her foster family trusts her to be alone. Potty trained, quiet, and not destructive, Lily is easy to have around. She's cuddly and sweet, but not clingy. Lily can entertain herself if her person is busy. We think she'd do well with kids because she's so gentle.
Lily is microchipped and current on her flea and heartworm preventatives.
We really want Lily to celebrate her first birthday with her own people. Is that you? Apply to adopt at www.stumptownstrays.org
