My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

At 15lbs, Buster is a good natured and sweet little gentleman, who truly seems older than his age. Probably because he`s had a rough go at life so far. He was surrendered because a larger dog in his home was aggressive towards him. So he may not get along well with larger dogs. But he gets along well with the other small dogs here, so if you do have another dog, we always recommend you bring your dog along for a meet and greet! We don`t think you should bluster, and get here quick to adopt sweet Buster!

More about this shelter

Our shelter had it's beginnings in the mid 90's and formally became a nonprofit organization in 2001. The dream of Lee and Sophia DiClemente has grown to be the largest no-kill animal shelter in New Mexico. Lee passed in 2010, but Sophia carries on with the support of a small staff, a large number of volunteers, and numerous donors - large and small.
