HOW TO ADOPT: This cat is currently spending time in a foster home. To schedule a time to meet this cat, please email fosterinquiry@arl-iowa.org.
---
- Arrived at the ARL very fearful but has made great progress in her foster home; looking for a patient family who will help her continue to gain confidence in her new home
- May find places to hide at first, but once she's comfortable she likes to be around other animals and people
- Loves her cat tree and being up high; curious about the outdoors and would love some nice windows to look out of
- LOVES treats and will run to you if you shake them
- She likes to lay under your chin on your chest for cuddles in bed
- Does pretty well with nail trims
- May need some time to become comfortable with people approaching her, especially quickly, but she has made good progress with both that and being picked up
- Can be a little bit of a rough player and may do best in a more mature home
- Has been doing well with other cats in her foster home and coexists fine with dogs who are indifferent to her
This cat can be fearful and may need extra time to adjust to a new home. We've seen good progress here at the ARL, but don't be surprised if it takes several weeks for this cat to become comfortable in a new place. This cat may hide and just observe at first - maybe for quite a while - and that is perfectly normal. Young children are too much for this cat right now, so we are highly recommending a quiet, mature home. We are happy to provide post-adoption resources. If you can give this cat extra time, patience and TLC, please consider adopting! It will be so rewarding to watch them gain confidence and start enjoying all the good things in life!
All adoptable cats and kittens are spayed/neutered, microchipped and up to date on vaccinations (rabies and FVRCP as appropriate for their age)
