My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Meet a cutie named Fugee! I am a 7-month-old female Boxer/Mastiff mix and I weight about 42 pounds. I enjoy playing outside running to catch the ball, taking long naps on the couch and most of all I love cuddles. My foster home has two other dogs and a cat, and I get along with them just fine. I am doing great in the crate I sleep there all night long peacefully and I am also potty trained. I am a bit timid at first but as long as you show me love I open up. I also have this quirky thing about me where I love looking at myself in the mirror and wag my tail. I would be a great addition to your family who wouldn’t want a sweet cuddly pup around! I bring tons of love and sweetness.

Additional adoption info

For fees and more details, see our website's Adoption FAQs

Our process may feel invasive, but we have a lifetime commitment to our dogs. We need to be sure they are going to a home where they will be loved and cared for their entire lives. Therefore, we screen our homes very carefully and we thank you in advance for your understanding.

* Please fill out our adoption application on our website. Once submitted, you will receive a confirmation message once we have received your application.

* When you apply, please let your references know that one of our team members will be contacting them via email/phone. Also, please contact your vet's office and authorize them to discuss your pets' health records with the ECCR representative who will be reaching out.

* We will reach out to you for a personal interview, we will also be checking your references: personal and veterinarian - if you currently have or have had a pet in the last 2 years.

* Once we conclude the initial process, we forward your application to the home visit team. They will get in touch with you to schedule a home visit at your earliest convenience. This process usually takes 1-2 weeks.

* Once your home visit report is reviewed and approved, a member of our team will get in touch with you to discuss the breed/mix, size, temperament traits and characteristics exhibited by your new dog; or offer to match you with a different dog that better fits your/your family's needs.

* Once a dog is selected, you will be in touch with the dog's foster to learn more about your new best friend. If the dog is coming on transport, you will then be given the information to go pick up your dog once adoption fee is paid and documents are signed.

Adoption application

Go meet their pets

We do not have an actual facility. All of our pets are in foster homes. We can offer meet and greet on adult dogs or older puppies only. Please do not email asking about availability as we get tons of email per day and it may take a few days to get back with you. By then, the pet could be adopted. Please submit an application if you are interested in a pet. Thank you!

More about this rescue

East Coast Canine Rescue is a 501c3 volunteer and 100% foster-based animal welfare organization dedicated to rescuing homeless dogs.

ECCR is founded by a team of three dog lovers and advocates dedicated to rescuing and rehoming lost, relinquished and abused animals primarily in the Northeast area and Southern half of the United States. These areas present a large number of animals in need. In collaboration with our veterinarian and shelter partners, the rescue is able to transfer these dogs into foster homes that will care for them until their permanent adoptions. ECCR is able to provide food, medical services, preventative care and love to these forgotten dogs who have no other chance at life.
