Meet the Pet
***Rodney is scheduled to be available for adoption at the Tractor Supply in Ringoes, NJ over the Dec 14-15 weekend. An application for his adoption can be submitted at socorescue.com. Questions about Rodney and/or our adoption event should be sent to socorescue8@gmail.com; please do not call the shelter's number.***
After a man discovered he had an incurable form of cancer, he set out to get all of his affairs in order. Among the things most important to him was finding new homes for the dogs that he and his wife had, which included a litter of eight young puppies. The mom to these pups appeared to be a mix of Dachshund and Lab.
All of pups have been well socialized towards people. They are playful, friendly and very affectionate. They will do very well in a home with other dogs and even children who know how to handle a small puppy. Regardless of which puppy you'd adopt, you'll get one that's full of love and will bring many smiles to your face.
Rodney has received 2/3 of his first year "puppy" vaccines with his final round due on Dec 21st. He's also been de-wormed and treated against parasites as well as being started on his monthly flea/tick and heartworm preventatives. His adopter must agree to having Rodney neutered once he reaches 6 months of age and provide verification of such to our rescue. Rodney will require all of his house, leash and other basic training.
