My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Lydia

Age: Born September 2023
Breed: DSH, Brown Tabby with Orange
Gender: Female

Hi, I’m Lydia, a sweet and gentle cat with a playful streak and a soft spot for lap time. I might come off as a little shy when we first meet, but give me some time to warm up, and I’ll reward you with snuggles and love.

Lately, I’ve been feeling extra confident and have started curling up on my foster mom’s lap while she reads—it’s my favorite way to relax!

I have a playful side too, especially when there are kittens around. You’ll catch me hopping around and joining in on their fun with pop-up tents and tunnels. I'm a young mom who has raised her kittens (See Razzle and Dazzle, also available for adoption) and am now ready for the next chapter in my life.

I’m a little wary of new people at first, but I’m never mean about it—I just like to observe and make sure everything’s okay before I settle in. Once I trust you, I’m all in for cuddles, brushing, and being your calm and loving companion.

If you’re patient, kind, and looking for a loyal and playful friend, I think we’d make a great match. Let’s set up a meet-and-greet at the adoption center so I can show you just how special I am!

Our fees include a full medical exam by a veterinarian. This includes a Feline Leukemia and FIV (Feline Immunodeficiency Virus) test for cats, Rabies and Distemper Vaccines, deworming and Spay/Neuter. Dogs receive a Heartworm Check, Spay/Neuter, Rabies and Distemper Vaccines, Canine Flu Vaccine, deworming, and Kennel Cough preventative. Our modest adoption fees do not cover the procedures and vet work that we provide the animals. We fundraise to make up the difference. Any ongoing medical needs that C.A.R.E. is aware of are explained fully, (including daily medicine costs), to the potential adopter, and become the responsibility of the adopter.
