My personality

My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Introducing this gorgeous and suuuper sweet girl who is desperately needing a home! This holiday season we are focusing on 10 pups who have spent far too long homeless by no fault of their own, who are yearning for the feeling of love and stability from wonderful parents! She was abandoned at a Walmart completely full of milk. It would appear that she was bred and dumped after nursing her puppies. She was devastated and greeted people at the Walmart eager for someone to help her. Animal control came and this girl was immediately so super sweet and loaded up in the truck wonderfully. Sadly, that occurred about a year and a half ago! She went right into the pound where her winning personality captivated everyone and because of that, no one had the heart to put her down even far after her time was up.
Ella (her full name is Nutella but everyone calls her Ella!) went ahead and had all of her medical work completed. She came into the pound at 18 months old, and is now 3. She weighs about 65 lbs and she is current on vaccines, deworming, and preventative. She has been heartworm tested, microchipped and spayed! She is completely ready and so desperately waiting to begin her next chapter.
Over the 18 months she’s spent at the pound, this girl has had many committed volunteers taking her on hikes, car rides, visits to the store, and sleepovers. Tremendous effort has been made to ensure she is well cared for and nurtured, and that there is a great vision of what her dream home would be!
We are in a time where adoptions are low, and the number of dogs in shelters post pandemic is about triple what it was pre pandemic. While pups like French bulldogs and doodles have been the trend, mixed breed girls who may have silly ears (we LOVE her ears!!!) and who have a black fur often get looked over, even though they’re truly incredible dogs.
Ella will be a fantastic companion for parents who are looking for a loving, confident, super intelligent, attentive, moderate activity pup! This girl absolutely loves to play with other dogs and participates in playgroups daily where she gets to run around doing zoomies and wrestling with her doggy friends! She is super social with people and is happy to meet anyone she comes across. Her tail is often wagging, her face often smiling with her gorgeous amber eyes, and those ears captivating everyone! She will be a fantastic companion for someone who loves to go hiking or take walks or jogs, play fetch in the yard, etc. Alternatively she would be a great companion dog for another medium activity pup who loves to play and snuggle! She’s happy to just have some play sessions in the yard with other dogs! She is excellent going to the bathroom outside and she is ready for just about any kind of life that involves some activity and some snuggling. She would be happy with a homebody who has a yard or some land to play on and hang out, and she would be equally happy being someone’s partner in adventure. Or perhaps the best friend to a child who would love a pup to cuddle in bed with at night and play fetch with during the day. Ella is happy to learn whatever you’d like to teach her, and happy to be by your side through life’s greatest and hardest moments. She has endless love to give and has been saving it up for a lifetime for that special someone who will see how beautiful she really is, and what a good girl she is, and finally give her a chance at a good future.
If you’d love to be the angel who saves this girl and gives this girl a home for the holidays and forever, please visit www.greatdivideanimalrescue.org and submit an application for adoption today!!

More about this rescue

Great Divide Animal Rescue (GDAR) is a 501(c)3 non profit organization based out of North Carolina. We are run entirely by volunteers who work tirelessly for the rescue, rehabilitation, and successful placement of the most needy of animals.

Our focus is to help animals of all species in need. We do so by providing services in both rescue/foster/placement of homeless pets, but we also partner with several animal control facilities.
