Here's what the humans have to say about me:
Just look into Joe Fisher's ice blue eyes, but full disclosure alert, even though Joe Fisher AKA Patches is probably the most beautiful dog you have ever seen, he comes with very specific, very unique, and very inflexible behaviors. Anyone considering adoption of Joe should have previous owner experience specifically with Aussies and understand that he will be a constant work in progress.
This beautiful Aussie is very smart and follows your every move waiting for your next command. He needs to be mentally challenged and is definitely a "project" dog. Joe Fisher is not a starter dog. No first-time dog owners. He needs an owner with time and that has worked with an Aussie in the past. He'll do best in a home as an only dog or with a medium/large girl canine companion and absolutely no small children as he tends to be very anxious and snappish. He is terrified of thunder and will bolt if outdoors. He ignores most dogs but doesn't get along with some. He doesn't require much exercise so will do fine with a small yard. Joe is a one-person dog. He remains constantly at his owner’s side or at their feet. He will defend you with his life (even if that includes not allowing your family or EMTs access to you during a medical emergency, which actually happened twice). On a one-to-one basis with his owner, he is dedicated, loyal, affectionate, and super attentive. He may or may not take a shine to other members of your household. He does not care for most other dogs but tolerates some girls that ignore him. He generally ignores cats, if they leave him alone. He does shed and will need grooming or frequent brushing of his beautiful long coat. Joe walks great on leash and loves long walks. He does not prefer to be in the yard alone and will run out and get his business done and race back to the house to join you. He listens very attentively and is smart and learns new skills quickly. He is crate trained and remains happy there for long periods. He has a great fear of thunder but is happy and comfortable in his crate during storms.

We do not have a shelter. Our pets are being cared for in foster homes. We allow prospective adopters to meet the pet by appointment after we have approved the home to adopt and feel that we have a good match.
