Meet Lexus!
Lexus is a stunning 5-year-old female who is ready to find her forever home. With her sweet and spunky personality, she brings a perfect balance of energy and relaxation to any household. Lexus is a staff favorite from her time in Texas and has won hearts everywhere she goes. She participated in playgroup at the shelter, where she showed her friendly, social side with other dogs.
Lexus’s journey hasn’t been easy—her former family dropped her off at animal control, knowing the likely outcome was euthanasia. But Lexus has proven to be a survivor and is now safe in a loving foster home, where she’s thriving as she prepares for her fresh start up North. She’ll make a wonderful addition to the right home.
Lexus’s Highlights:
• Potty Trained: She’s made great progress and has very few accidents.
• Dog-Friendly: Lexus does well with slow introductions to calm, well-mannered dogs.
• Cat Compatibility: Lexus hasn’t met cats due to her foster’s allergies, but her friendly nature suggests she may adjust well with proper introductions.
• Crate Trained: She adjusts well to her crate when needed but doesn’t rely on it excessively.
• Adult-Friendly: Lexus has done well with older teens and adults, making her a great fit for an adult family.
• Medium Energy: She strikes a balance between playfulness and relaxation, making her an adaptable companion.
• Great on Leash: Lexus walks nicely and loves exploring her surroundings.
Ideal Home:
Lexus would thrive in a loving, adult home where she can get plenty of attention and stability. A house with a yard to play in or a comfy spot to relax inside would be perfect for her.
At around 45–50 pounds, Lexus is a perfect medium-sized companion with a heart full of love to give. She’s ready to leave her past behind and start her new chapter with you. Apply now to make Lexus part of your family!

** PLEASE READ: If a dog/puppy is listed, then s/he is currently available for adoption. Their information is correct to the best of our abilities and the information we have been given as of the day of posting. In some cases this dog may be pending an adoption already, and their profile has not been updated yet. Please note, SPR does not guarantee the breed of any dog or puppy unless stated otherwise. All breeds listed are educated best estimates by transferring shelter staff, our volunteers or our vets. The dog may have some genetic material of an American Staffordshire Terrier (pit bull). The dogs are usually mixes of many breeds, making them the All American MUTT. Our dogs are rescued from various situations (kill-shelters, owner surrenders, strays, etc). It is most likely that both their parents were strays and mixes of some sort.
If you are interested in this dog, you MUST submit an application. Sandy Paws Rescue does not a have a public shelter in Mass, so there is no building you can visit without an appointment. Our dogs live in private foster homes or boarding kennels down south until adopted, or in some cases in our very small private kennel facility on Martha's Vineyard and foster care homes through out MV, Cape Cod and other parts of MA. A large majority of our dogs are adopted/spoken for prior to transport and release from state mandated isolation. To learn more about our rescue, adoption fees, and procedures, review the list of FAQ’s on our website at WWW.SANDYPAWSRESCUE.COM.
**The FIRST step in adopting an animal from our rescue is to submit a completed adoption application.
