Meet Beau, a ten year old Staffy mix weighing around 72 pounds.
It’s always so sad to see animals come to us, but especially when they are seniors and you know they spent their entire lives devoted to their family. Beau’s owner was no longer able to care for him so he gave him to a homeless person who was also unable to care for him so he brought him in to us. Beau has enjoyed time in one of our staff member’s offices and has quickly become a shelter favorite. He keeps a clean kennel and loves to go on walks, walking very politely on leash. Beau is a bit of an attention hog and likes to be around people and wants to follow you around, he doesn’t like to be locked in the office when all the action is happening in the lobby! Beau gets along fabulously with all the dogs he has met, big or small, happy or grumpy. He enjoys his treats and will “sit” and “shake”! Beau also likes his toys and will even carry around two in his mouth just to show you. He is an older gentleman so a dental into the future may benefit him and he really appreciates soft beds. If you have more of a laid-back lifestyle and enjoys the finer things life has to offer, take a second look at Beau.
This pet is available for adoption at the Yakima Humane Society adoption center.
Did you know YHS lets local community members FOSTER TO ADOPT?? That`s where you and the pet make sure you`re a good fit for one another by having a fun sleepover prior to finalizing your adoption. It`s a win-win for everyone! Just ask our front desk staff about how it works.
Interested in adopting this or another YHS pet? Please complete our adoption questionnaire found at: https://yakimahumane.org/adopt/apply/
Our adoption fee includes a lovable companion, spay/neuter, vaccinations and intestinal worming, flea/tick treatment, rabies vaccine (for pets over 3-4 months of age) and a microchip with nationwide registration. Your adoption fee helps support YHS and our spay/neuter efforts in the community to end overpopulation of cats and dogs.
If you have any questions, please e-mail us at adoption@yakimahumane.org.
