My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Meet Daphne - the beauty queen!

Daphne is about 2.5 months old and is the cutest little love muffin. You better watch out, because she is bound to steal your heart with her velvety soft coat and endearing personality. She is looking for a large dog-savvy active family who has the time to dedicate to helping her grow up to be the best girl she can be. Daphne currently weighs around 8lbs and will likely be at least 50-60lbs when fully grown.

Daphne came to us from a local shelter after she was found abandoned with her 3 siblings. The puppies were at the shelter for a few weeks where one of the 4 siblings was adopted. One of our foster homes then stepped up to foster the remaining trio and they have been doing great in foster care ever since. They are looking for individual homes so they can get the one-on-one training and socialization they need the thrive.

Daphne is the pretty one of the group, but she isn't just a cute face. She is such an affectionate girl who loves to make new friends and explore. When she isn't adding new people to her fan base, her favorite activities include wrestling with her siblings and racing around with her squeaker toys. She is doing great learning her basic manners, but has lots to learn and needs a family who can commit the time to continue her training. She would be a great candidate for puppy classes.

Daphne has done well meeting new dogs and we think she would do best in a home with a playful dog who can mentor her and so she always has a buddy to romp around with. Daphne hasn't met cats before but is young enough that she could probably do well living with dog-savvy cats with a slow introduction and proper supervision. Daphne could be a wonderful addition to a family with kids 10 years or older.

Daphne is still working on her house and crate training but has been doing well learning. Her new family will need to be patient with her and consistent with letting her out to help her learn. Daphne has never been left alone, so she needs a family who has a schedule that will allow her to slowly get comfortable with being left alone.

Daphne is such an amazing little girl and she can't wait to meet her fur-ever family. if you think that might be you, submit an adoption application today!

Daphne's adoption fee is $350.

The Yolo County SPCA is a private, not-for-profit, foster home-based animal rescue organization and does not have a shelter. All our animals awaiting adoption are in foster homes.

Our adoption fees help us cover the cost of spay/neuter surgery, microchip and registration, and rabies vaccination (if over 4 months of age at intake or spay/neuter) for all animals. Dogs are tested for heartworm, started on preventatives, and given a DAPP vaccination. Adult dogs are up to date on their vaccinations prior to adoption. Puppies will be current on the vaccinations appropriate to their age. The adopter is responsible for additional vaccinations as necessary after the adoption.
